Arsenal Pottery
Majolica ware was produced by the Arsenal Pottery, of Trenton, New Jersey, between circa 1876 and 1899. In 1876, Joseph S. Mayer established the pottery known as the Arsenal Pottery on account of its proximity to the State Arsenal. The majolica produced by the Arsenal Pottery included well-modeled Toby pitchers and jugs, similar to English examples.
Arsenal Pottery exhibited majolica at the 1884 World’s Fair in New Orleans and the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair.
